I haven't played this game. I don't really plan on playing this game either, but just thought someone here might be able to give their two cents on this.

Supposedly the art was drawn by the same artist as the one for Kanon, Air, Clannad, etc. The colorful CG style looks great, it's just that shota-style isn't really my taste (Alita, don't you dare give me that dirty look *laughs*). I've already seen the entire CG set, and judging from that I'd say this game isn't nearly as ero as it is cute---although I didn't really think it'd be ero to start out with.

Still wavering at whether I should just get it and keep it or forget about it altogether...

Alita, if you need the fansisk (more like a tokuten item) to this, drop me a message.

I was interested in playing this when I first saw it, I'm a sucker for cute shouta-ish characters. ^^'

I don't really have the disk space at the moment though, still trying to will myself to finish Yo-Jin-Bo and do a proper review on that. =\

Aaah. Pekoe is a division of VisualArt's, which is the company that presides over Key, which is famous for their bishoujo titles "Kanon", "Air", "Clannad", ect. Yes, it is the same artist, Itaru Hinoue.

And yes, I like younger guys rather than older ones, sue me. :-P These designs are a bit on the shouta side but don't bother me. But I'm also a fan of Hinoue-sensei's art, and since this is from VisualArt's, who are notorious for having good stories, I hope their new BL line will continue that trend.

I just got this too, except I'm still waiting for it to finish dling vv. I don't think I'm planning on playing this for a long while, since Shota isn't really my thing, and the CGs looked too cutesy for my liking.

Personally if I were to choose a game with younger guys, I would have to go with Seraphim Spiral, except the characters are all 17 and above (though the main character looks like a 12-year-old)

That's funny, I never really thought of the Seraphim Spiral characters as that young. I guess I'm just used to the average characters being high school range. Then again you have those weird age and appearance do not mix scenarios, like Umino in Gakuen Heaven, who is ...24? ~laughs~

I think the only times I usually pick older characters is if they are rather pretty and have some type of alluring or evil personality. Hehe^^'

Meh, I usually don't like shotas. But... but one of the boys has violet eyes O_O; And he's not looking _that_ overly young either (at least compared to the rest of that babies).

Geez, everyone must be /way/ pickier about "shouta" than me because I don't think they are /that/ shouta.

Junior High+ I'm fine with, I just don't like the elementary-school loli and shouta. And they definitely don't look that young to me.

Yeah, that's a good point. I think we've all just become accustomed to throwing the term 'shouta' around for any young and cute looking characters, or at least I have. ^^' Twins? Hmm...

Is it 'shouta' or 'shota'? I think I started myself in a bad habit of spelling it wrong. >_o

I've heard somewhere that shota has come to mean an age range up to 14, which would include junior high...partially.

15-19 is then so-called shounen, and 20+ seinen, and then 30 the ULTRA-SEXY age range, and then 35-50 (or even younger, depending on their style) can be safely called oyaji.

Of course, there are always exceptions.

I think the up to 14 is because that was the age of consent in Japan. Now 15 is the age of consent.

As for the spelling, I'm not sure if it really matters so much in this case. "Shota" (and I think it can be spelled either way, depending on the Kanji and such) is a common Japanese boy's name, and somehow came to be the coin term for the male equivalent of Lolita (which of course came from Vladimir's controversial book -- I'd like to note Lolita in that book was actually 14). I've seen the name spelled "Shota" for characters more often, but I think "Shouta" also became popular because of the word "Shounen".

I basicly just judge it on the fact, how young they look like in my eyes and not at what the artist says, the age should be. They can state that the character is 18, if he looks like a 10 year old, I don't go for it *cought*No Money*cought* ^_~ But I'm more a fan of older high school or college students and biseinen anyways ^^ *shall now call ~30 the ULTRA SEXY age range too* XD

I don't care for older guys that much. I don't dislike them, but I like the more feminine bishounen, and typically that means younger ones. Typically highschool age to early twenties is where most of my favorites fall.

I heard that shouta came to be coined from a book as well, a japanese one though. I think it's in Wikipedia's entry on shouta.

Yes, I'm so used to the 'ou' thing I guess. I met some extremely picky people though who had a fit if it wasn't spelled as 'Shota' though. -_-
