Huh, I can't find any information about this on their website. What is the source of this information?

I did notice they changed the release date of Animamundi. It was supposed to be released in March, now the date is in late May. They are taking pre-orders now, apparently early pre-orders will get an Animamundi t-shirt. Think I'd better go pre-order. ^_^;; (But XL... geez, it's a game for girls. >_> That'd go to like... nearly my knees. Ah well, pajamas!)

I've gone to AniPike today (wasn't there for years ^^;) and there was the information about it. See here: http://www.anipike.com/index.php?env=-in....87-1-0&n_event=

Lets see, if they bring it as the original PC-game or convert it to one of those "PlayDVDs"

Agreed. I don't like DVDPGs (DVD Player Games). >_< Why did they have to release Hourglass of Summer on DVDPG instead of PC? *sighs*

I would like to note that it has come to my attention that Hirameki International's release of Animamundi is edited. I had a sneaking suspicion this would happen, since they never really said anything about it being a BL game on their site in the first place. >_> From what I have been told, some CGs have been edited, and others have been removed completely. I think it is important for people to know this before you make a decision on whether to buy it or not.

I can confirm this as well. My friend recently bought the english version and has been playing it along with the original japanese. Both the BL and gore that has been edited.

Honestly it really, really irks me, but what can you do? v_v Apparently the edited version is still rated 17 and up. This makes no sense to me considering anything that would merit that rating has been cut out...

I'm trying to find the original Anima Mundi around but no luck yet. Let's not even get started on their supposed release of Yo-Jin-Bo either, I can't bear to think of how mangled that could end up.

Given the Getchu link for Yo-Jin-Bo, I think it is pretty obvious that it will be cut as well.

Sometimes it seems like a lot games in the US get a M/17+ rating for just having a dark atmosphere. Like the Shadow Hearts games or Shin Megamit Tensei: Nocturne. I wouldn't really consider them 17+ at all (and they are rated 12+ over here, btw).

But why buying a BLG, when you don't wanna release something that includes BL? Well, I think you can do it with AnimaMundi, 'cause there wheren't that much BL-CGs in it. It was a way bigger thing to cut the gore CGs out, 'cause there where a lot more and included in every playthrough. I don't think they are too extreme and did fit in the whole atmosphere of the game, but oh well...

Well I've got the English release of Animamundi and is trying to play it, but mostly I'm waiting in high anticipation for Zettai Fukujuu Meirei. That game is never going to be coming out... >_<()

I'm still thinking on getting Enzai.

17+ is a rating so that the younger kids won't get it and for the sensibilities of the parents..

Hirameki said it was trying to avoid an AO (adult only) rating since that automatically cuts their market drastically. As for Yojinbo...hm...I'm not sure, it seems a much tamer game, so I think they should be able to get away with not cutting anything, unless I'm missing some CG.

But it wasn't Adult-Only to begin with. >_<

And like I said before, if you look at the sample CGs for Yo-Jin-Bo on Getchu, I'll bet you it's going to be edited. Look at the 7th one.

Exactly, so why not leave the original content that made it '17/18+' (come on, what's the difference?) in. Also, as Alita mentioned, it wasn't 18+ in Japan. We just seem to have stricter rules here...

And to respond to the comments on Yojinbo, I have played through the game, and the scenario with that CG in particular. There is also a more graphic CG of a certain character (not sure if this is considered a spoiler) getting his arm literally sliced off.

I will be very miffed if the mentioned CG involving You-chan is cut though. That was one of the high points in his scenario IMO, very painful and emotional. His seiyuu does a nice job screaming by the way >_>. They will most likely cut it for its shock value though. v_v

I'm more worried about the script. The dialogue is often humorous in between the main conflict, but mainly filled with a lot of Japanese-centric jokes and puns, as well as the characters using silly 'engrish' often. Not many companies will take the effort to keep these numerous references intact, and Hirameki is no exception I'm sure.

I'm just back from YaoiCon 2006, and I personally spoke with Hirameki International at their booth in the dealer's room.

In regards to Animamundi, they really didn't want to edit it, and it wasn't really their decision. Though the game itself isn't 18+, the ESRB considered it so by their standards (the ESRB does the ratings of video games in America). Basically, they did the absolute minimum amount of editing they could do to receive the "M" rating from the ESRB. They weren't very happy about it, they didn't want to have to edit it but pretty much were forced to just to get to release it.

I asked about Yo-Jin-Bo and they gave me their solid word that not a single CG has been removed or altered (and it ended up with a "T" rating from the ESRB for those curious). I purchased a copy and that will probably be the next shoujo game I play and review. (However, I still am not going to buy an edited version of Animamundi; but hey, they understood. Amazingly enough, they've been to my website. O_O That was kinda weird, a commercial company having visited my site.)

Well, that's good news at least. Damn the ESRB. Am I the only one who thinks they may be sexist against it just because it's BL? >_>'

I found out just the other day that I lost my Yo-Jin-Bo save data when one of my hard drives crashed over the summer (macromedia folder's local settings, nuuu T_T). So, I have to play through it again anyway. Maybe I'll venture to try Hirameki's version this time to compare, or use my friend's copy since she plans to get it. ~_~
